Welcome

The Reverend Elder Jean White lived an amazing public life as a nurse, a midwife, a missionary, a pastor, a pioneer of church expansion, an Elder of international standing in her denomination, a mentor to other clergy, a counsellor, and as a tireless campaigner for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people – particularly for their active and positive inclusion in the Church.

Central to Jean's ministry was a tried and tested commitment to Jesus Christ. On this she was unequivocally immoveable. God as Father, Holy Spirit as Inspirer, and Jesus as the sent Son were core precepts of her faith out of which her service and ongoing care for others was maintained.

This site aims to make available a range of items from Jean's vast archive of writings, sermons, articles and worship resources. It also contains material from people who knew Jean and who were blessed by the experience of her friendship, support, courage, and natural generosity of spirit as she devoted so much of her life to the ministries of Metropolitan Community Churches, and in particular to the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ in her own church MCC South London.

The material is offered in the belief that the highlights from the life's work of this unique woman are worth preserving and may be of value to all who would seek to follow in her footsteps as a pastor to the people of God.

A Christ-invested, soul-bright love sings on! It sounds for ever!
